FILE P2 / LEGAL · TERMS
Plain-language terms of use.
These terms govern your use of the AppVault iOS app and the website at appvau.lt. Last updated 2026-05-16.
The agreement
By downloading AppVault from the Apple App Store, you accept Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The terms below add to that agreement; where the two conflict, Apple’s EULA governs.
What AppVault is
AppVault is a privacy utility for iPhone and iPad that stores user-supplied photos, videos, and documents in a local encrypted compartment. AppVault is licensed to you on a per-Apple-ID basis. You may install it on devices signed into the same Apple ID.
What you agree not to do
You agree to use AppVault only with content you have the legal right to store. You agree not to use AppVault to store material that violates intellectual property laws, child safety laws, or any other applicable law in your jurisdiction. AppVault is a privacy tool, not a shield against lawful authority.
The pattern is the key
The encryption pattern you choose is the key to your vault. We do not store it, we cannot recover it, and there is no recovery process. If you forget the pattern, the vault stays sealed. By using AppVault you accept this design.
Subscription and billing
AppVault offers a free tier (one vault, limited file count), a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Billing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are processed by Apple per their standard refund policy.
No warranty
AppVault is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do everything we can to build a vault that works, but we cannot guarantee that the cryptography will never have a future-discovered flaw or that an attacker with novel capabilities will never find a path we did not anticipate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the use of AppVault is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, the updated version is published at appvau.lt/terms with a new revision date. Material changes will be announced inside the app on next launch.
