Combined with on-device encryption and no server holding vault data, that gives users more control over what remains on the device. These are the kinds of layers that make App-Vault feel more complete rather than just locked.

App-Vault keeps the setup simple and local. There is no account, no email, and no other recovery path beyond the optional BIP-39 12-word recovery phrase. Its 5x5 pattern grid derives the encryption key, and Face ID is limited to quick re-unlock rather than replacing the core secret.

That tradeoff will not suit everyone, but it is coherent. Your vault remains tied to what you know and what stays on your device, not to a hosted account flow. If you are switching from LockMyPix on iPhone, the practical reason to move is straightforward: App-Vault gives you more privacy features without adding cloud dependence.
