FILE 05 / DECOY VAULT
One app. Two patterns. Two completely separate vaults.
The Decoy Vault is a second 5×5 pattern that unlocks an entirely separate encrypted album inside AppVault. Each pattern has its own files. Each pattern has its own catalog. Neither can see the other.
PRIMARY VAULT
DECOY VAULT
On the surface, AppVault behaves identically whether you enter pattern α or pattern β. The album loads. The thumbnails appear. The settings work. From inside either vault you cannot prove the other exists — and from outside, neither one is visible at all.
This is useful in the genuine privacy situations we ship for. A shared family iPad has both your photos and your child’s drawings; each gets a separate pattern. A spouse occasionally borrows your phone to look something up; the decoy holds the album you are happy to share. A device that travels through customs has a decoy with travel snapshots and a primary with sensitive documents.
We do not market the Decoy Vault as a way to deceive a partner about a relationship or to evade legitimate authority. The use cases on this page are the use cases we describe in our App Store metadata.
